Munster Junior Woman’s Club was proud to support the Northwest Indiana Walk to End Alzheimer’s Kickoff Night at the Gary SouthShore RailCats game.
The Alzheimer’s Association is a longtime General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) affiliate organization, making this cause especially meaningful to federated clubwomen across the country. The kickoff event brought together team captains, volunteers, supporters, and community members to celebrate the start of the 2026 Walk season and raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
This year marks the second consecutive year that Munster Junior Woman’s Club has registered a team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The annual walk raises funds to support Alzheimer’s care, support services, and research while providing hope to the millions of individuals and families affected by the disease.
The RailCats kickoff event offered an opportunity to connect with fellow advocates, learn more about this year’s walk, and help “paint the ballpark purple” in support of the cause. Participants were encouraged to invite future walkers, recruit team members, and kick off the Walk season together.
MJWC looks forward to participating in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s and continuing to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission of advancing research, providing care and support, and working toward a world without Alzheimer’s disease.
