On July 6, the Munster Junior Woman’s Club wrapped up our monthly business meeting with an open house and reception to celebrate one of our favorite parts of the club year: giving back to the community.
This year, MJWC donated $23,350 to organizations that support children, families, veterans, animals, health and wellness, education, the arts, the environment, and community outreach.
Several of the organizations we supported joined us for the evening to meet club members, share more about their work, pick up their donation checks, and enjoy refreshments with us. We spend a lot of time planning fundraisers and service projects throughout the year. It’s nice to end the year by meeting the people whose organizations benefit from those efforts.
Organizations supported this year include Haven House, Camp Millhouse, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Powers Health Cancer Resource Center, Humane Indiana, Mental Health America of Northwest Indiana, NAMI Lake County Indiana, SAFY, Indiana Dunes Learning Center, Girls on the Run Indiana Crossroads, Phil’s Friends, Honor Flight, Exceptional Equestrians, Towle Theater, Angels Wrapped in Love, and many more.
We are grateful to every member, donor, event guest, and community partner who helped make these donations possible.
